In our user research at KWALL we frequently engage with prospective students and we have observed a recurring trend that sheds light on the challenges of designing for Generation Z.

Born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s, Generation Z is the first generation to grow up entirely in the digital age. As they enter higher education, their unique habits and characteristic traits have significant implications for web design, particularly in the admission journey and enrollment rates. We will explore the distinctive needs and pain points of Generation Z and how adapting our designs can enhance their user experience.

Many students struggle to locate the link to the apply page or have difficulty finding a direct link to the application form. While we might assume that design and user interface improvements can fix such issues, with Generation Z, it can often be something as simple as an overlooked element.
